Ragù festeggia il suo secondo compleanno con un magnifico Miglior Pelo Duro su 129 bassotti a pelo duro e BIS3 su 245 bassotti al Raduno ABC di Cimafava. Grazie infinite ai giudici Cesare Calcinati e Dietrich Hollman.

Ragù celebrates her second birthday with a fantastic Best Wire-Haired among 129 Wire-Haireds and a BIS3 among 245 dachshunds at the ABC Dachshund Club Meeting in Cimafava. Thanks so much to the judges Cesare Calcinati and Dietrich Hollman.

Ieri ci ha lasciati il nostro Vicky. Aveva 16 anni e 1 mese ed era il capostipite di tutti i nostri bassotti. E' stato il grande compagno di Laura e il grande maestro di tutti. Ha insegnato a noi cosa significa essere un bassotto. Ha insegnato a tutti i nostri cucciolini la vita. Ha insegnato ai cani introdotti già adulti l'amicizia. E' stato un cane buonissimo: con gli altri cani, con le persone, con i bambini. Un instancabile e affettuosissimo compagno di giochi. Un bravo bassotto di campagna. Una creatura sempre felice e disponibile. Ha accettato la sua vecchiaia, triste, incombente e affaticabile, con la sua solita grinta, combattendo per la vita fino a poche ore prima di morire. Sappiamo che lo faceva solo per noi: per lasciarci il più tardi possibile. Abbiamo imparato insieme anche a lottare contro questo. A saperci adattare alla malattia giorno per giorno. E ci siamo riusciti. E ci ha insegnato infine la cosa più triste ed estrema: a saper e voler dire addio all'amico più caro quando lui non ce la fa più. Ora riposa accanto a Tocai... meglio... ora sta sicuramente cacciando con Tocai. Erano tutti e due grandi cacciatori.

Yesterday our Vicky left us. He was 16 years and 1 month and was the ancestor of all our dachshunds. He was the great friend of life of Laura and the great teacher of us all. He teached us what means to be a dachshund. He teached to all our puppies how to believe. He teached to adult dogs who came to our kennel how to be friends. He was a very good dog: with other dogs, with people, with children. A very active friend of play. A good hunter. A creature always happy and alive. He accepted his oldness with his great strenght, fighting for life till a few hours before death. We know that he did this for us: to stay with us as longer as he could. We learnt together this too: to face to illness day after day. And at the end he succeeded in teaching us the saddest thing: to decide to say goodbay to our best friend when he can't go on anymore. Now he is near Tocai... surely hunting with him. They were both fantastic hunters.
